BRIEF
The Brief
Antbear Eco Lodge is a rustic eco retreat nestled in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains near Estcourt, KwaZulu-Natal — offering guests breathtaking mountain landscapes, ancient cave paintings from South Africa’s indigenous communities, and a peaceful, nature-immersed experience far removed from the pace of city life. As one of the most distinctive eco lodges in the Drakensberg region, Antbear needed a visual brand asset that would communicate the full character of the property to potential guests — capturing not just what it looks like, but what it feels like to be there.
The brief was deliberately ambitious: create a property film that conveys the full sensory and emotional experience of Antbear Eco Lodge without using a single word. No voice over, no titles, no narration. Pure visual storytelling — allowing the landscape, the spaces, the light, and the atmosphere to do all the communicating.
The Challenge
The Drakensberg location added both opportunity and challenge — extraordinary natural material to work with, combined with the logistical demands of a 3-day remote shoot with changing weather, natural light, and the inherent unpredictability of outdoor production in a mountain environment.
What ROW.D Delivered
Post-production shaped the full footage library into a 2–3 minute property film built entirely on visual storytelling — sound design providing the only audio layer, creating an immersive, meditative experience that invites the viewer to feel as though they are already at the lodge. Five social media cutdowns were produced simultaneously, formatted for the aspect ratios and durations that perform best across Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, giving Antbear a suite of content assets from a single production engagement.
